Worldwide, prostate cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed of all cancers in men. Systemic treatments such as hormonal therapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy are frequently prescribed to patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. Despite excellent treatment outcomes associated with these treatment modalities, these treatments are often associated with a myriad of long-term side effects that could impact the health status of prostate cancer survivors. In this talk, we will discuss the management of common late toxicities that are associated with systemic prostate cancer treatment, which include bone, cardiac, metabolic and cognitive side effects, as well as the implications on care coordination for a prostate cancer survivor.
