Sulev Koks

Sulev Koks is a professor at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Innovative Therapeutics, Health Futures Institute, Murdoch University and a senior research fellow at Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science in Western Australia. Sulev is trained as a medical doctor and during his career has done experimental medical research. The research subjects have been diverse, from preclinical drug development to the genomics and pathophysiology of diseases. He worked as a professor of pathophysiology for many years in Estonia. In 2018 he moved to Perth and here his main research area is genomics of complex diseases with the goal of achieving a medical breakthrough by utilising the potential of genomics and precision medicine. Sulev’s research interests are neurodegenerative diseases, psoriasis, and osteosarcoma. He has published over 300 research papers, many of which are highly cited articles.
