AIMS:
There are ongoing challenges in the provision of education/networking and professional development opportunities in health care. An innovative way to address these shortfalls led to a national webinar initiative for cancer care coordinators.
DISCUSSION:
Cost effective webinars have been hosted with technical support provided by the WA Cancer & Palliative Care Network.
Topics have included Indigenous cancer care, care complexity, care coordinator support for offspring of adult cancer patients and more recently digital health in cancer care.
Committee members chair the presentation and each presenter/s has topic expertise. Participants are encouraged to submit questions via the webinar platform. These are addressed by the presenter/s and posted in PDF format in the care coordinator page on the COSA platform. Member access to webinar content is available.
There is national participation evidenced by registration demographics. Feedback demonstrates a high level of satisfaction and engagement with this initiative. Participant contribution for future topics and presenters are actively invited.
This activity aligns with the following COSA Strategic Plan Goals and strategies:
Strategy 2.1 Ensure COSA’s educational opportunities remain relevant to the membership
