Prof Daniel Roos BSc(Hons) DipEd MBBS MD FRANZCR – biography
Formerly a high school teacher, Prof Roos trained in Radiation Oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia, culminating in a Fellowship at Mt Vernon Hospital, UK in 1993. He has since worked as a Staff Specialist at the RAH, now in semi-retirement. He was awarded an MD in 2005 based upon his world first investigation of radiotherapy for neuropathic pain due to bone metastases, and a Professorship from the University of Adelaide, School of Medicine in 2011. His research has mainly involved Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), Australasian Radiation Oncology Group (AROLG)/Australasian Leukaemia Lymphoma Group (ALLG) and National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trails Group (NCIC CTG) studies, with a particular interest in lymphoma and palliative radiotherapy for bone and brain metastases.
